NatSIP-CRIDE Longitudinal Study

Posted in News

Bob Denman, NatSIP Associate has announced the launch of the NatSIP-CRIDE Longitudinal Study.

The following email has been sent to all LA HI Support Teams

“We are pleased to announce that the NatSIP-CRIDE Longitudinal Study for children and young people with hearing impairment has now been launched.

The online, web based  Survey Questionnaire – which can be accessed here  – is now available for data entry and submission on individual pupils. The target date for completed returns in the first year of the Study is the end of April 2018. However, with the launch of the Study being later than anticipated, there will be some flexibility over the deadline.

The link to the Survey Questionnaire can also be found on the dedicated NatSIP-CRIDE web page https://www.natsip.org.uk/natsip-cride on the NatSIP web site. The NatSIP-CRIDE web page contains a range of documents associated with the Longitudinal Study, including supplementary Guidance and optional forms to facilitate data collection.

The purpose of the Longitudinal Study is to investigate the relationships between pupil, provision and outcomes/participation variables with the overall aim of improving provision and outcomes for children and young people with hearing impairment. It has been developed through collaborative working between NatSIP, University College London, City, University of London, and CRIDE (the Consortium for Research in Deaf Education). The Study will operate over a seven year period. The first three years of the project are being grant funded by the Ovingdean Hall Foundation.

We are inviting all LA Hearing Impairment Support Teams to join the Study and very much hope that your Service will be able to participate.

If you have any queries on the Longitudinal Study please contact bob.denman@natsip.org.uk

With kind regards on behalf of the Project Team.”
