Seashell Trust, a specialist school and college for children and young people with complex needs is running ‘Sleep support‘ workshops of parents. The support is suitable for parents/carers of children who are deaf .
Below are the different types of support that they offer:
Seashell Trust offer a behavioural approach to sleep issues. All support is for parents and carers, is free, and facilitated by a qualified Sleep Practitioner.
Sleep Success
A 4 hour workshop for parents and carers that contextualises the importance and function of sleep and the impact of sleep deprivation before investigating strategies to address sleep issues.
Sleep Better
A structured 6 week course with a focus on peer-support. Between sessions, parents and carers have the opportunity to trial strategies and bring feedback to the next session. Experiences and questions can be shared in a supportive environment, allowing for specific advice and guidance.
Sleep Clinic
5 sessions of 1:1 support, allowing for targeted and individualised advice and guidance to address the child or young person’s sleep issues.
The next half-day course is next Tuesday (12th). If people are interested in 1:1 clinics, they can start at any time. The next 5 week course will start 19th September.
